Fiskeplaske
Fiskeplaske
Base Health: 80000
Speed: Slow
Armor: 0 (weakspot)

Infinite (non-weakspot)

Overview[ | ]

  • Fiskeplaske is a flying boss lume, appearing only in the map 5-4: Laser Bridge as the final challenge in the Road to Elysion DLC.
  • This flying lume is heavily armoured and generally takes no damage from the majority of it's body. It has four weakspots, but only one is active at once, the order of which is random and they change after every 10% of the total health that the boss loses, which means that he will change the weakspot for a total of 9 times, or, if the Hydra Hunter feat is enabled, for a total of 10 or more times (e.g. if the boss has 120 000 health in the played difficulty/number of players, he will change the weakspot once every 12 000 HP lost).
  • Aside of hitting the shifting weakspots, the boss also takes damage from the Drone launcher's primary fire, the Circle Saw's bleeding DoT of the secondary fire and Sweet's burn if she hits the armoured parts of the lume's body with any weapon.
  • While Fiskeplaske does target players with attacks, it does not stop moving towards the core while attacking, neither does he get slowed while firing its projectiles.
  • It attacks with multiple projectiles, which fly to the target directly, doing a heavy amount of damage to both players and/or the core. If the Fliskeplaske reaches the core it will start firing at it being able to bring down the core very quickly - does up to 400 core health per attack if all damaging particles are targeted to the core and hit it. Also a player hit by Fiskeplaske 's damaging particles can die very quickly if hit by multiple ones. Every attack of the boss is consisted of 8 particles and each particle deals 50 damage to the core. He can throw particles at the core and at the player at the same time.

Notes & tactics[ | ]

Tower Strategies[ | ]

  • Drone is technically the only tower that can do damage to the Fiskeplaske, but must be placed directly under the Fiskeplaske's path in order to reach it without a range spire's assistance. A level 3 drone tower can send a drone, that with some delay, deals 13 000 damage to the boss, but if overcharged and/or buffed, the damage dealt can rise significantly.
  • The Rupture mines have some potential, but appear to be extremely tricky. A solo game cannot utilize them vs the boss in any effective way, but in coop play one player can try to put a high number of them on the head of another player, and if the second player jumps into the boss close enough to attach them all to him, this possibly can produce an interesting quick-death result, since this type of mines are known to ignore all known types of armor in the game, including the armor of Bobble heads.
  • All other towers in the game, including Anti-air cannot damage this boss, although ground towers can aid vs the other enemies in the last wave. This automatically means that most damage towers that have targetting system (except Makeshift Cannons, Drone towers), they are generally better being set to "Least Health" in the last wave and any remaining Anti-air towers should be removed before the boss' appearance and the rest of resources to be spent for else.
  • An optional tower for this level is the AR-Mine Dispenser - the player can build through mines and on wave 10 place them within all lanes, the lumes won't even make it to the core meaning you can focus the boss without any distractions.
  • Some resources can be invested into Makeshift Cannons and Slow Fields (the second being placed on high tower(s) to reach the boss or very highly overcharged/buffed by an overcharged Range spire) to slow Fiskeplaske's movement. A high number of Makeshift Cannons can potentially stun the boss for a very long amount of time, even exceeding 5 minutes around them if in great numbers, although they can't deal damage to the boss.

Player Strategies[ | ]

  • Weapons with reliable damage are the best way to defeat this lume. They are more reliable at attacking and the player can target specifically weakspots. Interestingly, the fighting explorers and Simo units sometimes do a bit of damage to the boss, but it is very low and the AI has to shoot the boss in the weakspots, which just happens randomly if the weakspot is facing the explorers/Simo units
  • The high-crit weapons (Plasma Rifle, Sniper, Ballista and Nailgun) are among the best choices against the boss.
  • Fast weapons like Gatling laser are also capable vs the boss, but they tend to lack high critical damage and the medium or low accuracy may be a bit of an issue
  • The Drone Launcher can help players fighting Fiskeplaske as it will completely ignore its armour.
  • The Circle Saw's secondary fire would always apply the bleeding DoT, regardless of where the projectile hits, although the damage is limited.
