Overview[ | ]

  • Unlocked at Rank 21 for players, that have the Ruins of Brightholme DLC.
  • Fire modes
    • Primary Fire
      • Activates the saw, which, after a 0.75 seconds delay, starts grinding a single enemy in melee range (approximately one player character away), dealing continual damage. This is one of the fastest weapons in the game, having the same fire rate as the Assault rifle and the ETK-Tesla Prototype (10 shots/sec) - only the Sub Mini-Gun fires more than 10 shots per second with its primary fire.
      • The fire mode has a specific low recoil and has a little need of aim adjustment over time. (test!)
    • Secondary Fire
      • The secondary fire shoots out a circular saw, that sticks into an enemy and does additional bleeding damage over time (DoT).
      • The projectile deals 1000 damage and the DoT follows quickly after it. It is dealt over 4 seconds, 45 every 0.25 seconds for a total of 720 DoT, and 1720 overall damage.
      • The DoT of this fire mode will always apply to the enemy that was hit, regardless of whether it has armour and what's the armour type - even Bobble Heads, Hoverers, Hoverer Queens & Fiskeplaske would suffer the 720 damage, applied through their armoured body, although the 1000 damage of the projectile 'd be negated. This makes the weapon somewhat unique.
      • The DoT will apply Exposure rounds, Synergy and Slowing rounds to any lumes hit, regardless of what body part it hits & regardless of whether its 1000-damage base projectile deals any primary (non-DoT) damage. This includes the aforementioned semi-invulnerable lumes.
      • Only the inital hit can deal weakspot damage, while the DoT does not change, similarly to the DoT of the SMG's secondary and the Gatling Laser's primary fire mode.
      • The bleeding DoT damage is affected by TSYGAN's last-hit bonus dmg, but does not trigger Skye's passive or Sweet's burn.

Notes & tactics[ | ]

  • Haigen can cause serious damage with this weapon and his natural abilities.
  • Skye can potentially find good use of this weapon, since its primary fire has great speed.
  • Survival perks can help very well with utilizing this weapon's primary fire, e.g. Hydra Blood, Blaze of Glory, The Doctor is In & Phoenix.
  • The perks Against All Odds and Consuming Rage can help doing superior damage with the primary fire.
  • Despite of always applying the DoT, even through the armoured bodies of Bobble Heads, Hoverers and the other partailly-invulnerable lumes, it is still better to aim for their non-armoured body parts with the secondary fire, since then the inital hit deals its damage as well and therefore DPS is more.
  • The superior fire rate of the weapon's primary fire makes it great at making Soakers more vulnerable, but the secondary fire is good for this purpose as well.
  • The Circle Saw can deal one the highest weakspot-DPS-es in the game, capping at 4990 crit damage per second if constantly hitting a weakspot. For instance, the Nailgun can deal up to 5000 weakspot damage per second, which is the biggest possible crit-DPS in Sanctum 2.
  • Similarly to other weapons, it is good to use the very last ammo in the clip for firing the secondary fire mode, thus resulting in some more damage dealt.
  • The Tactical juxtaposition perk seems to not lead to a higher switch-delay if using secondary fire last before switching to the other weapon, unlike the the conversion of some other fast weapons into slow, which makes picking this perk a mostly fine choice with the weapon, although it doesn't improve the bleeding DoT of the secondary fire and even leads to lower overall DoT due to the lower fire rate.
  • Using the weapon with Hip fire is double-edged, since the primary fire can deal some more damage to weakspots if not using this perk.
