Armoured Heavy
Armoured Heavy
Base Health: 30,000
Speed: Slow
Armor: 300 (non-weakspot)

150 (weakspot)

Overview[ | ]

  • The Armoured Heavy is a slow-moving enemy, covered by damage-reducing armour on the most of the lume's body- most weapons and towers will have their damage reduced by 300 per shot/hit, except only the Drone, Drone launcher and when hitting its weakspot with other weapons.
  • Its weakpoint is located on its rear and also applies damage reduction, although not as much as the rest of the lume's body does.
  • This enemy ignores players and will only move toward and attack the core. When it attacks the core, it deals 150 damage per hit.

Notes & tactics[ | ]

This lume appears in 28 game maps - the 4 maps without Armoured Heavies are only the first three from the 1st region (Facility) and 8-3: Radar.

Tower Strategies[ | ]

  • The Armoured Heavy's armour reduces the damage of all incoming attacks by 300 damage. Players should therefore use towers that do more than 300 damage per shot, such as Lightning, rank 2 or 3 Cannon, Rocket, Violator, and Focus towers.
  • Mines deal an enormous amount of damage per hit, so the AR-Mine Dispenser can be useful as well.
  • The Drone tower's drone shots ignore armour, so this tower is also capable and would at least hurt the lume to a certain degree, depending on the tower's damage.
  • Some towers with low damage per hit like the Gatling and the Scatter lasers would need damage improvement and while overcharing the Gatling could lead to damage that to successfully overcome the threshold of 300 after some more resources spent, the Scatter lasers would mostly require Amp or/and other buffs for this after the upgrades to level 3, since their overcharge has very low efficiency, unlike the Gatling.

Player Strategies[ | ]

  • Tactical Juxtaposition is a great perk to have against heavies with any character, but one should be wary that if turning a weapon from slow into fast, the damage per hit might become too low to deal noticeable damage.
  • The perk Armour Shredder is extremely useful against the Armoured Heavy as it allows any weapon to deal full damage against it. While most maps don't require it that much and other perks might find a bigger all-around use vs all the lumes, the 4 maps of 7th region (Outskirts) have many lumes with high armour, so this perk can find very good use there.
  • Armoured Heavies have a large amount of health, so players will most likely need to assist their towers in taking these enemies down, especially early on in the game.
  • The player should use weapons that deal high damage per hit, such as the ETK-Tesla Prototype's secondary fire, the Battle Rifle, and the Voltaic Hand Cannon. The Assault Rifle's secondary fire is much more effective than the primary fire even when it comes to the weakspot, since it is also armoured, although with half the body's armour.
  • The Armoured Heavy's slow movement makes aiming at its weakspot rather easy, but if the maze has twists and turns, the Heavy will move its rear often, making it rather hard to hit with slow firing weapons, similarly to the situation with Hoverers. Additionally, lumes around might be too dangerous for the player to keep being behind the Heavy.

Characters[ | ]

  • SiMo does bonus damage to weakspots, making him great against this lume with his Sniper Rifle, but also the Shotgun, since he is actually the character, capable to deal the most possible damage with this weapon, potentially killing Armoured heavies with one fully charged shot if the Marksman perk and presumably some other damage perk is picked.
  • Haigen with a fully charged Shotgun can do enormous amount of damage to the Armoured Heavy, although when it comes to weakspots, both he and TSYGAN are behind SiMo even when it comes to the Shotgun.
  • Sweet's burning damage ignores armour, making it potentially good.
  • TSYGAN can deal massive amounts of damage to a Heavy with the Ballista.
